Cherry Supreme Chiffon Cake - Large Cake - 1950

For Small Cake, halve all ingredients and bake according to Basic Chiffon Cake.

Note: This cake differs from the Cherry Chiffon Cake in several ways. First, it is torted. Second, it calls for an icing (The Cherry Chiffon does not). Third, cold water is used as the liquid (instead of jarred maraschino cherry juice), and, the chopped maraschino cherries and nuts are used outside of the cake (as a filling) instead of being folded into the batter before baking.
